Southern Fried Chicken in Austin

I have had the bird at Gene's and it is good.

Wish Threadgill's still served it, perhaps they still do?

Anyone know of any good places outside of the standard fast-food variety?

Could you please explain to me what the difference is between "SFC" and just plain ol' fried chicken?

Threadgills does not have it. Every timne I go there I wonder why not. Seems like it would be the perfect place to do it well.

Threadgills used to have it, but no more.

Hoovers only has the friend chicken breasts.

I want the crispy, juicy chicken, so good you want to clean the bones of gristle, that is SFC.

Gene's is good.

Gene's and Lola's Nubian Queen (both on east side) both have fried chicken that fits the bill. And both are great overall.
