South Carolina a good example of SEC...

South Carolina is supposed to be one of those solid teams in the SEC this year. After struggling with a bad NC State team, they manage to lose to Vandy last night for the second straight year. Their QB's have thrown for something like 7 INT's in two games.

They were rated in the Top 25, mostly because the media likes Spurrier. However, we'll hear how this is an example of why the SEC is tough. "Every week is war," they say.

Maybe it's just two spare teams playing and one has to win.

I'm just giving thanks that we wont have to watch South Carolina on Thursday nights anymore. ESPN has had 2 bad games on the last 2 weeks. The only bright spot last night was that Ms. Andrews was SMOKIN HOT

last night.

South Car. just plays boring / ugly football. If they were in the BIG XII, they would be battling Baylor and aggy for the bottom spot.

But wait...

Chris Fowler continues to say that the SEC is by far and away the best conference in the country this year and it is not even close.

And he could not be more wrong.

They are very good and may be the best but it is very close.

The worst thing to happen to the 'Ol Ball Coach is that his defensive coordinator moved to zero u a decade ago. All offense all the time doesn't work, especially minus a dependable quarterback. Now, about that business of the SEC being head and shoulders better than any other conference.....

Things I've learned from ESPN...

1. An SEC team beating a non-SEC team proves SEC supremacy
2. An SEC team beating another SEC team does too
3. An SEC team losing to a non-SEC team does too

Unfortunately, my feeble mind couldn't grasp their reasoning behind facts 2 & 3. I'll have a pencil & notepad handy next time.

SoCar is an excellent team, and therefore Vandy is awesome. This season, Vandy could beat the combined all-stars from Florida, Southern Cal, and the Dallas Cowboys.

If South Carolina won, you would say "See, Vandy is no different than Baylor and USC certainly isn't better than our mid-level teams. I don't see the big deal?!?".

Since South Carolina lost, you are saying "See, the 24th ranked team from the SEC was overrated. Why the love affair with the SEC? I don't see the big deal!?!?".

Point being, your mind is made up and your opinion has been formed long before the first snap. There is no outcome of any given game that can change your mind. If there was, I suppose it would be bowl games, where the SEC just went 7-1 to include 2 BCS wins and back to back NC's. The one loss of course being an Arkansas team without a coaching staff against an obviously better prepared Mizzou team.

So, when the SEC wins another NC, and Texas is tailgating at the Alamo Bowl, you can sit and ponder why the Big 12 doesn't get the love you so desire.

ABC doesn't have nearly as much invested in the Big 12 and PAC 10 as it does in the SEC, nor does it have the influence that ESPN has in polls and awards.

I can't watch SCar games because the announcers make me want to vomit due to their hard on for Spurrier. The Cocks will run 17 consecutive horrible plays that lose yards or go nowhere and they say nothing, then they have one play where they pick up a first down and they go on and on about what a great play call that was by Spurrier. Last week it was on a 3rd and kinda long where they dumped it off to a RB and he picked up the first. Whippee, what a freking genius, I mean who else at any level makes that call?

whocares your team sucks so all you have is riding that SEC coat tail.

Really that is just anemic.

And you can look up the word anemic in your Word file.

Also, why would we think that SC beating Vandy would mean anything good for the SEC? Do you think it's good for the Big XII if Kansas State beats Iowa State?

First, let me say that I, too, would like to see a picture of Erin Andrews from last night.

Secondly, the SEC East is a train wreck. TN lost a VERY average UCLA team playing a 3rd string QB. South Carolina is awful. Vandy is Vandy. Kentucky probably sucks, too. So, that gives the SEC East two teams worth a damn. Both the Big 12 North and South are better and deeper.

The SEC West has 3 awful teams and 3 solid teams.

That's it.
