South Austin Vet Recommendations

Anybody have a favorite Vet in the S Lamar/Westgate/Manchaca area? I tend to prefer Aggie vets for whatever reason. And friendly, proactive office staff is of utmost importance.

We're a little farther south, but have been using Companion Animal Hospital just past the Y on 71 in Oak Hill. Dr. Brown is our Aggie vet.

I believe a friend of ours goes to Westgate Pet & Bird, I can look into that if you like.

it's more central than south, but i've been using Lake Austin Blvd Animal Hospital for 4 years - even now that i've moved much further north, i still make the trek down there whenever the animals need shots/checkups/medical attention.
whatever you do, don't go to Brykerwood.

The dog has been hacking like Larry David and i'm starting to think he might have some kind of throat irritation beyond a rogue hair. I need to get him heartworm-checked, hip x-rayed and whatever shots he missed last year. I have a feeling that, at 8 years old, we're beginning the slow pure-bred slide.

about a mile south from 71 on the left. Three geat DVM's that have a real friendly atmosphere and great support staff. Don't worry this isn't an ad, they really are great! I moved out of Austin recently and miss my old vet...thats all.

South Lamar Animal Hospital - S. Lamar @ Bluebonnet
We've taken our animals there for the last 10 years. They're good people.

I'll second S. Lamar Animal hospital. Also been using them about 8-10 years. They're great. Very capable and very reasonably priced.
