Ok, I wasn't expecting much here....

But why did the guy go and stab the girl that was already dead as far as he knew?
That didn't make any sense at all.

You're going to have to explain the plot in depth for me to make a ruling on this. There's a lot of subtle nuances that go into various plot devices in the slasher genre that make it impossible to make a judgment without indepth background on the characters and their motivations.
