sooo

From seeding alone, and our regular season matchups with the teams from the other bracket, I'd like to see KSU! Most of the higher seeded teams such as Nebraska and OSU, saved their aces for their Friday games, so we might see a scrub.

Ruffin has had 4 days rest, so I like our chances against anyone, especially with our O coming up with some clutch hits.

Baylor. Not for any particular reason other than it would be two Texas teams.

Not so sure about this one. Weve owned them this year and the odds factor in.

If I were able to pick any team, granted we win, I would want it to be Nebraska given their top 10 RPI. That could give us a huge boost.

No boost will be received from tomorrow's game. The regional site locations will be announced before the championship game is over...my guess is the decision to have one in Austin, or not, has already been made. If we don't already have a 2 seed locked it will completely shock me. About the only questions left, at this point, are who are automatics, who are at large, and what bubble teams get left out(ie. Oregon State).

You want Baylor?! You gotta be kidding.

Punching the Cowboys in the mouth at least once this year would do a lot for this team. Hoping that we want Baylor is the cowardly way out, IMO.

We owe OSU and debts must be paid before we move on.

I'm glad you agree Goose

I bumped into Wayne Graham last Saturday afternoon in New Orleans and he said that he was afraid that Texas was going to end up in their Regional and he said Texas right now is the LAST team in the country he wants to play.

He also told me that he played ball at UT, which I don't think I knew before. He played for Coach Falk apparently.

I also asked if he ever knew Morris Williams, way-back Sports editor at the Statesman and father of Morris Williams, Jr. He said that he played golf with him couple times and knew him some and he promised to tell me more sometime.

I've tried to pick the brain of some of the older locals about Morris and Morris Jr., but not many remember them other than the golf course name.

I remember Graham as a great player bacin in my radio broadcasting days. Morris williams Sr was a fine writer and good man. If I remember right,Morris jr was a tremendous golfer and died in a plane crash. I may not be accurate but I'm old. Glenn

Humble Glenn,

do you make it to many games in Austin? There's a lot of folks that would enjoy hearing some stories from the days that laid the foundation for Texas Longhorn baseball.

I hope Chance Ruffin is not pitching today. This game does not matter that much. The host sites won't be announced until after the game, unless the game goes to extras, but I'm pretty sure that they've already figured out what they're going to do with Texas, and winning or losing probably doesn't change their minds at this point. So winning this game means nothing other than a trophy. Shouldn't risk the best pitcher on the team, who we may need a complete game from next weekend, given how the bullpen has pitched.

Thanks, wishbonemac. We live in Horseshoe Bay, in the HillCountry. Don't see many games but follow them closely. Ienrolled at UT in June 1944, the same month as Bobby Layne. He and James Street were probably the greatest college pitchers I saw.And both superb fb quarterbacks.
KVET radio was doing most of games and was lucky to do them for years. So many major leaguers from UT I'll not try to name for fear of leaving out some. Ole Billy Goat Hill in center at the old stadium was fun. Wish I could say more but would bore many young ones. Thanks for asking...Glenn
