Sonic Cherry Limeade

Those of you who drink this, tell me ... how many cherries does your Sonic put in a Route 44 size?

The last two I've bought...one had one with two lime halves and the other had the two lime halves with no cherry at all.

usually two cherries, two lime halves in a route 44. i wish they'd take the lime halves out entirely, because they just end up blocking my straw, but i'm not going to special order it like this. and my cherries always end up buried under the crushed ice because i forget to take them out first. best soft drink ever.

Here's why I ask:

There are two Sonics in Temple. The old one, on 57th Street, used to always put three cherries in a Route 44. In fact, an employee one time told me it was a corporate spec that a Route 44 size had to have three cherries (smaller size drinks got fewer). Then the new Sonic opened on the Marlandwood extension. They only put one cherry in the Route 44. And today I went to the old Sonic and they only gave me one.

The Sonic we stopped at in southern Oklahoma last Sunday gave three cherries. The Sonic I went to in Hearne yesterday gave two, but they were very large and firm, almost like fresh. Delicious.


So I've wondered what the standard is at other Sonics. Thanks for the feedback.

I love the lime halves. After I finish my Route 44, I put the cup of ice and limes in the fridge. The next day, I squeeze the limes again (using pliers to get all the juice, since they've already been squeezed) and add a can of caffeine-free Diet Dr Pepper.

I may not reduce, reuse and recycle when it comes to aluminum cans or plastic bottles, but I am the queen of reusing limes and large styrofoam cups!

All the Austin ones give two cherries in the Route 44.

Man, I haven't been to the Sonic on 57th Street in many, many years.

not knowing the size of the cup of course...

Stat, yes, they DO make it more palatable.

However, when one of those goes wrong, it goes WAY wrong. Like pouring acid down your throat.

I called Sonic corporate and they said one cherry, no matter what size the drink. But I know that a Sonic employee one time told me that three was the number for a Route 44.

Oh, well ...

If you guys keep calling Sonic corporate to ask about this, then I expect that cherries will be the subject of an upcoming "Two Guys at Sonic" commercial.
