Songs you 'ONE REPEAT' for hours

I've been listening to the Old 97s "Adelaide" for about a combined 3 hours between yesterday and today. It's just playing softly in the background while I'm online.
So I was wondering-
What songs people can listen to over-and-over for hours on end?

A short list off the top of my head and in no particular order-

1) "Adelaide" - Old 97s
2) "Lost Cause" - Beck
3) "Fade Into You" - Mazzy Star
4) "Waterloo Sunset" - The Kinks

It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small, small world.

Repeat.

Texas Fight

I also played We're not gonna take it" by Twisted Sister all the way to the 2005 red river shootout.......

I do that to Nick Drake's "Place to Be." It's not a long song, so the reps add up.

At the moment it's Ventura Highway by America.

That song makes me want to sit out on my back deck, drink and play guitar. The weather is perfect for that today. Heading back out there now...

"Behind the bamboo shade" - Joe Ely
" It's a long way to the top of you wanna rock n' roll" - AC/DC

I could listen to "Fade into you" for hours, too.

Right on Cracka....Right on

Sorry, for steering this post off course. I am only a wannabe indie hipster. I like band of horses, the shins, arcade fire, etc.

However, my base love of music began with metal / hard rock, so that is still what I love the most. Some of these are a bit generic (101X kinda crap), but others are my favorite tracks by a lot of mainstream bands.

The Grudge / Third Eye / Vicarious / Triad / Lateralus - TOOL
Orion / Call of Ktulu - Metallica
Wrists of Kings - Isis
Brother / Would - Alice in Chains
Drown / Soma / Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins
Deer Dance - SOAD
Ghost of Tom Joad / Born of a broken man / Freedom - RATM
Everything in it's right place - Radiohead
Sweet Carribean Bungalow - Pushmonkey
Them damn blue collar tweakers - Primus
Anesthetize - Porcupine Tree
Blood and Thunder - Mastodon
Flashback / God hates a coward - Tomahawk
Stripsearch / Mouth to Mouth / Midlife Crisis - Faith No More
Something in the way / D7 (Wipers cover) - Nirvana

When I am in a blue mood I can listen to Jackson Browne's Late For The Sky over and over and over.

A few that are pretty dusty, but still good:
Father and Son by Cat Stevens
Holly Holy by Neil Diamond
Ooh La La by Faces

One a bit more recent:
Keep Me In Your Heart by Warren Zevon

Thanks for the thread. I am enjoying checking out some new tunes.

Had to pull this thread back up. Tell me more about old 97's. I got Adelaide off iTunes and am enjoying it quite a bit. They are in Houston next weekend and I would consider going to see them if Adelaide is representative of their music. For those of you in your 20's, is this a group your mother would love???

Im also on the Interpol kick right now..

many songs I like were already named... I would add

Jacko - OhGr

lostman"Adelaide" is not typical of their sound. If you want soft songs from them, they've got them.

Murry (the bassist) sings:
Valentine
In The Satellite Rides A Star

Rhett (the lead singer) sings:
"Question" (sometimes in French as well)...
[SIDE NOTE]...and no matter what he says about his High School French Teacher being "hot", she wasn't. She was a scrawny ***** that would pout instead of teach. She was horrible.

THE OLD 97s-

Your mom would like Rhett (the lead singer), because all girls like Rhett.

The were basically a rockabilly band that would play fast country songs with great lyrics. They sing about Texas, Trains, Girls, Heartbreak, Texas, Loneliness, more Girls...

Many times their concerts are basically "sing-alongs" because all their fans know all the words by heart.

DESCRIPTION:

Rhett (rhythm guitar/ lead singer)

-Girls love him
-He'll swing his arm around to strum the guitar on a song or two in an effeminate Pete Townsend kind of way.
-He'll wail.
-He'll make a joke or five at his expense
-He'll "confess" something that he's never told an audience before (or never told an audience in THIS town before)
-He'll sweat more than a ***** in church

Murry (base guitar/harmonies/a few leads)

-He'll talk with a ridiculously awesome Texas twang
-He'll sound like he was raised in Mayberry
-He'll look like Harry Potter's "golly gee" uncle
-He'll sing a soft song or two that people will love
-He'll make a reference to a classic COUNTRY singer that influenced the band (not "New Country")

Ken (lead guitarist)

-He'll play simple, but distinctive solos
-He'll look like he shouldn't be in a band
-Hopefully he won't sing his song from the last album
-He'll leave you impressed

Philip (drummer)

-You'll realize that he's wailing away behind everybody and that his heart rate is probably pretty high
-He'll get to do a little solo when they sing "The One" (which they will this tour because it's finally on an album
-You'll notice that many of their songs have an extremely quick drum beat propelling the band through the song

ALL of their songs are not like Adelaide, but every time I corral a friend into going or another good friend does the same, the new person leaves-
1) Impressed
2) And new fan
3) Asking- "How are they not famous?"

You should go, you'll be glad you did.

Just listened to previews of all of the songs on the new Old 97s album that came out MAY 13th, 2008.

"Blame It On Gravity"The Link

I think (2) "Dance With Me" is going to be their first single.

(5) "Ride" sounds like classic Rhett over the last 8 years.

(9) "Early Morning" sounds like their early rockabilly stuff.

Murry's songs are: (7) "The Beautiful Song" & (12) "Color Of A Lonely Heart Is Blue"

Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues

Can I Sleep In Your Arms by Willie Nelson

In a Sentimental Mood by Duke Ellington and John Coltrane

but I will definitely try to get out there.

When I was asking if that was typical of their sound I was thinking of "Beth" and KISS, that is definitely NOT their normal "sound" so I did not want to buy more music only to hate it.

Thanks again.
