i don't think there's anything wrong with "queers" getting married, but you guys have arnold schwarzenegger as your governor and all of those hollywood luminaries, so ya know...... might keep the state smack to a minimum.
 
a couple of notes:
1) that is a blog entry that doesn't give enough details to understand anything other than there is a suggestion to remove Neil Armstrong from a "science strand" in the 5th grade social studies books

not really sure what that means other than it hasn't happened and its only in a certain book

2) Texas education has been historically one of the hardest states for text book makers and I'm sure this doesn't make it any easier but so what, we are big enough state and if they don't want to make the text books to our specifications they don't have too, someone else will

3) the original post, is doing what many on here claim those who lean to right do, and that is make a judgement without all of the facts. Sorry BigWill, I often disagree with your point usually respect your position, but there aren't enough facts to make a judgement, but to call anyone a retard for the little bit in that blog is .....well a little retarded. The only thing I saw that was completely off was the quote that said that Neil Armstrong shouldn't be included because he wasn't a scientist. Let's be honest he's not in any text books because of his Master of Science, he's in it because he was an astronaut that was the first to walk on the moon.

All of this said Neil Armstrong is an American Hero and there is nothing here that states otherwise. We don't have enough facts from the original post and link to know from what he is being excluded.
 
Hey Admiral...just curious. Have you ever paid 8 bucks to see any Ahnold movies, or anything else that come's from Hollywood, or do you just sit home and watch Sports and Austin City LImits on TV?

I find that usually the guys that make fun of the hollywood types tend to watch the oscars/emmys.

Agree that this is an outrage and our state education board stinks. Who the hell did they put in with the space they save from removing Neil Armstrong? Not a scientist? Maybe not in the purest sense of the word, but how many thousands did he inspire to study math and science? I am certainly one.

The State Board of Education is exhibit A for how far to the right the Republican base has shifted.
But I am more dismayed that Joan Rivers no longer does the red carpet show with her daughter. It's an outrage.
