What happened to masculinity?

I don't even know who this pastor is. However, taking the religious angle out of the equation, he is spot-on. As a teacher I see the negative influence of the lack of male role models in public schools. I'm not diminishing the value of female leaders in education. But, there is an obvious lack of TRUE male leadership in secondary education today. As a matter-of-fact, a significant number of male teachers today may as well be female in the sense that they buy into the same educational philosophies. I know there will be a fair number here who disagree with my assertion and brand me as sexist, but just look around. It's obvious. And yes, I believe that males and females are indeed different.

I read the article, don't agree with much, but here's my rebuttal. It has nothing to do with homosexuality- I know plenty of homosexuals who are just as masculine as any other man. It's total nonsense to blame Hollywood and homosexuality for this- it's the christian conservative equivalent of liberals blaming Palin for the shooting in Tuscon- they each have their stats and notes, but it's just not the case in either scenario.
From K-12, I had exactly 2 male teachers, there were other male teachers, but very few until I got to high school and there were a few more. The principal we had at our high school was a good as they come, and she didn't take **** from anyone. There were also 3 female grade level principals at my high school, and anyone of them was more than willing to drag you by your ear down to the office, or even worse, our coaches' office. When a teacher was in the middle of my ***, or asking me to do something, or what ever it was, it was as if my parents were asking me. It was Yes Ma'am, no ma'am, period. None of this nonsense where teachers are referred to as Ms/Mr. (first name). Teachers have always been held in high esteem in our culture, as a society we understood the importance of the role they played in the lives of our kids. Teachers are fighting an uphill battle on all fronts, and it used to be they had help from the kid's home, but that just isn't the case as much anymore. It has to do with respect and our cultural power distance with teachers diminishing. I remember the most terrifying moments of my childhood was when I saw my teacher at the grocery store, or anywhere but the classroom, cause I knew for sure her and my mom were going to chat-there was a much higher level of trust between the teachers and parents. Today, heterosexual parents are calling the teacher on behalf of their kids, even at the college level, to harass the teacher about the student's grades. That's a bigger effect on someone's masculinity than watching Will and Grace.

My question to the Pastor would be, what's been the influence on the girls in our society?
