Two Things: 1) What Did Haith do at Miami that is sketchy?
and 2) When Mizzu has 7 scholarship players, why doesn't someone from Texas knock Pressey on his *** and test how much Mizzu wants this game? Texas is just letting Mizzu have a highlight tape. We need to play with an edge.

I started thinking I should check and see how many of these Mizzu players are seniors, but then it occurred to me, why bother. The Tigers are now Kentucky's problem. Haith and Calipari, Worldwide Wes, and Varez Ward- and fine bunch of academic institutions too (sorry Vandy- you busted the flush)......... screw the SEC too. This game is pissing me off. Someone puhlease knock Flip Pressey on his ***, please

Also I read that Flip Pressey is from frickin' Texas. How did that kid wind up at Missouri? Pressey has absolutely lit us up.

side note, maybe...
Cincinnati beat Syracuse in Big East semis...
I looked up their roster.
Fresh, Soph, Jr. Jr., Sr. -- starting lineup.

Until Barnes can coordinate the program to stop the turnstile exists of first and second year players, we're stuck with this kind of painful effort.

The main problem tonight is it's a 13th grade class (first year after 12th grade) trying to play against older young men. I blame all the players who have skipped out, and Barnes for not discouraging it.

This team could have been...
Durant
DJ Augustine
Cory Joseph
Tristan Thompson
J'covan Brown

If I did the math correctly. Imagine that freaking lineup.

Sports talking heads have been saying this week, what a sorry state college basketball is in. It can be helped if NCAA + College Presidents institute a 3-year lock on scholarships. You take a ship, you can't go to the NBA for 3 years. Skip college all together, or take a 'ship, and you are stuck for 3 years. I wish to high heavens that would be done.

I understand your position, but maybe we could be a little more realistic, and say 2 years. Imagine keeping all kids two years, and maybe convincing one or two kids to stay 3 years?

Also, if you made the minimum two years, wouldn't that force colleges to recruit athletes who actually have to maintain their grades?

As it is now, do Freshmen even have to pass more than 6 hours in the fall?

If that is true, a one and done kid could pass 6 hours in the fall, and skip all his classes in the spring, and go pro.

Good call from orangecat. Four-year players feel like a pipe dream. I'd take two/three year players at this point. Maybe RB just became a victim of his own success. After the Final Four in '03, dudes were flyin' to Austin from everywhere for the one-and-done experience. TJ was great but the role players on that team were experienced horses (Mouton, Ivey, Boddicker, etc) who stuck around and made a decent run the following season...

This is what I know about Haith at Miami, and this comes from a Miami grad. Haith was associating with Nevin Shapiro who was running a ponzi scam in the south Florida area. So, Nevin was apparently inviting players (Football and basketball) to parties on the boat with paid women
wink.gif
and clubbing. Also, Nevin was donating money to different programs and Nevin said he directly paid a basketball player. Nevin is behind bars now and he claimed the coaches knew about all these activities.

So Haith is potentially dirty, and Scott Drew and the Baylor program are still under NCAA investigation to my best knowledge. Maybe the ground gets softer for tilling for one Rick Barnes. Let's hope. And let's also hope that JCovan and Myck aren't insane with regard to their draft prospects.
