Sure he isn't confusing this year with 2005?? I don't mind this prediction at all, but as someone above stated, I see next year or 2010 being our run to the MNC again. Then again anything is possible!

Never say never.

Look what the okies did in 2000 when nobody expected it. They came from way back in the pack of the rankings and surprised everyone.

Thats the kind of feeling I am getting about my Horns NOW! Chemistry, talent and coaching are coming together NOW.

Ditch this loser mentality that we HAVE to lose 2or 3 games. To much of that crap on this board as everyone knocks themselves out trying to be "realistic".

What is needed now are for team leaders to step up and LEAD!

I've consulted the Oracle. He's quite right.

Colt wins Heisman. Williams wins Beliknikoff (don't make me spell it). Chiles vibrates into the fourth dimension on national television.

This whole thread is the reason why the Texas fan base is so weak at times.

This whole tuck your tail between your legs, doom and fear crap that grips the fans every year.

It's borderline cowardice.

I am a complete home, I believe every year we will every game and win the National Championship!!!!

In my life time it has happened three times and we had a real good chance two other times, maybe three if you use my logic, which can be flawed!!!

All I can say is........Nope.......Aggy will not play in the Alamo Bowl.

Oh and no chance in hell we play in the championship game even though I dream of that every year.

Hmm... On the homepage of that site there is a story about how the Trailblazers are going to win it all next year, in other words LaMarcus Aldridge. Maybe someone just likes them some Longhorn. Hook 'em!

No doubt the Horns have a lot of question marks coming into this season - RB, a WR spot, young OL, DB's, etc), but look at the talent that is stepping in and up. Couple that with the new and improved Mack (no more starting or playing because your a Sr., no more taking plays off, no more half-*** plays) and the Ace-in-the-hole Muschamp (B!MF)....he may be the catalyst to changing not only the D, but perhaps the entire team chemistry, attitiude & intensity. Well, I got hunch baoklhorn may be right, it could be a real pleasant surprise this fall

Right on Texas Jack:

There are all too many Horn fans willing to sell out to gain "objectivity points" on a message board. I acknowledge we could be stronger in a few areas. We all know what those areas are. There isn't a team in the country this year that doesn't have a few Q marks.

I'm not predicting a Nat'l championship this year, but I'm not going to use the oppurtunity to detail a litany of reasons why we won't. I guess some people get comfort in not getting their hopes up too high.

too many questions for this team to make it to even a major bowl, much less win it all.

COLT: Colt has to prove he can lead this team on his own without any real playmakers. However, for this team to go to a decent bowl Colt has got to stop turning the ball over.

Mack: He's got to find a way to get the best players on the field and stop the lip service. Every year we hear "we've got to do a better job of this and that" but we never see the results on the field. Mack has to get Chiles on the field with the ball in his hands. He's the most explosive player Texas has right now and he needs to get in the game as a QB to change the pace at times.

I'm not worried about the defense. They are young but very talented and have a great coach leading the way.

I still think Texas is going to struggle to get to 10 wins. I see 8 or 9 unless they get some major breaks. No way they make it to the title game though. This should still be a fun year though with a lot of close games.

There are always about 10 teams that have a shot at playing in the MNC game. The trick is to almost always be one of those teams, and hope to get a few good bounces of the ball. Of those 10 this year, I think we are at the top of the 2nd half, as far as the odds of it happening.

anyone can write for bleacher report - it's just like the sports version of Blogger. articles seemed to be copyedited/checked for quality before they are published though.
