Why this site so complacent about sports like Softball? Texas is seeded 7 in the 64 team NCAA Softball Tournament and folks here seem oblivious.

Play opens Thursday 5/20 at McCombs field at 5:00 pm as BYU plays East Carolina. Texas meets Iona at 7:30 pm. Come on out to McCombs Field and yell for your team!

Hook 'Em Horns!

Cuernos I know CAT herself and you have mentioned that she didn't have the run support she really needed. I think that hurt her at the top level because we were winning by maybe one run after many innings during the regular season and maybe she was used up. That is why pitchers that didn't belong on the same field has her were winning NCs and betters were hitting home runs on CAT that ordinarily she would easily strike out. I know softball pitching is more natural as they say but I still feel over a period of time you can be used up similar to baseball pitchers. What do you think?

By the Way - Go Horns! Win the softball games!

Terrible day for the ladies, they drop to BYU 9-8 blowing a 2 run lead in the bottom of the seventh and are about to lose to E. Carolina 1-0 and be eliminated.

A seven seed and all the promise going up in smoke.

We lose 1 - 0 and are eliminated. This is a big disappointment. I didn't expect to get to the NC game or anything like that because we are a young team but I feel we underachieved and should have at least advanced to the next round and given our players some more playoff experience for next year. We have a great pitcher. We need to get the players that can play good defense and provide run support. We will see.

Thanks for a good season anyway Horns but let's have an even better one next year.

Wow... I was actually thinking to make a game over there tomorrow to make some new best friends. Sad end to what seemed like such a promising season with a solid Team.

Hope we put it all together next season.

Thanks Connie and Crew.

Bottom of seventh against BYU was painful. Start off with an error on what should have been a routine ground out to second. Then a walk and then a couple of hits and boom game over. The evening game was like the Cat years all over again dominating pitching and zero run support.

Luna looked human in the afternoon but showed why she will dominate in years to come in the evening.

This team should have been playing next week and had a great shot at OKC. Hopefully they take this disappointment and channel it into a big run next year.

I think we should be capable FW. As you know a good pitcher like Blair and CAT can keep you in the game but there must be run support and supporting good defensive play. CAT had great pitching but no run support even though the team did play well defensively. That is what we must have in order to make a run. We have Blair but we need the defense and run support.

We need to get the supporting players. What I think would help is to have the recruits come when we have one of our big football games. I have seen quotes by players that said that was the turning point in them coming to Texas.

Great summary, FWHorn. I was at the game and you described it perfectly.

I am sure the Coaches and Players are very disappointed as we fans. I need to refrain from making further comments due to my disappointment. I will say forget the home run records, it is about wins, not records.

IMO Coach Clark's primary goal this season was to win the Big 12 as a stepping stone for the future. Thank you Lady Horns, for a great season.
