So I just got Photoshop...

Anyone have any friggen clue how to use this? I've looked around on the internet for some tutorials but all the advice seems to be way too advanced for what I would use it for. (funny pictures). BTW it is my friends copy of photoshop 7.0.

If I knew how to do some basics, I think I could figure out the rest. However, right now I feel like I can't even make a dent. Thanks.

funny pictures huh...well whatever you do get...online tutorials or books. Learn how to:

Make selections
Work with Layers
Work with masks.

i was going to recommend photoshop elements 3.0 but since you already have 7 i would maybe read that book but just concentrate on how to edit photos with the basics, cropping, brush tools, blur tools, eyedrop things like that, you can have fun just playing with photos that way. that program is so advanced and powerful you can never learn or use it to its full potential. i taught myself but it just takes playing around with it and a book would would probably speed that process up a bit.

I suggest checking out Fark.com photoshop contests for ideas. Those guys are really good.

I love playing around with Photoshop.
