So I got a Weber Bullet Smoker for Xmas

And I'm ready to fire that sucker up. However, I've got a wood deck in back. There is no cement in my backyard except for the path that goes to the driveway/garage. Where should I do my smoking? I hate to keep relocating the smoker from my deck to the driveway every time I want to cook. Should I get some concrete tiling or what-not from Home Depot to place the smoker on on my deck? Would that be reasonably safe?

Pick up a larger waterpan too. You can find these at Basspro for ~$5 (Academy may have them too- -but, I believe most Academies only have the smaller diameter Brinkman pans). Really helps on overnight smokes.

Another thing to consider is how close the thing will be to your house, merely from the smoke aspect. If I set mine up too close to one corner of the house, the doors act like a chimney and draw the smoke into the house. You may have to cook in a couple of locations to see how much smoke gets into your house.

I also second getting a larger water pan. I use a pan from an old Brinkman I had. It doesn't fit into the brackets of the WSM, so I just set it on top of the WSM pan when I am smoking a brisket.
