So... anyone in Maui for the game tonight?

I guess technically it's the afternoon there, but whatever. It's on ESPNU for those who can't afford the trip. Like me

Actually, very believable. It's unusual when they don't handle things this way. They suspend players and then just say "oops" when they find nothing was wrong, and the guy is left having missed games for nothing that he can never get back.

Felix looks out of control so far. In the first 4 minutes, he's had at least three unforced errors throwing the ball into unreachable places.

Is this team even coached? Texas looks like a bad team at the local Ymca where two of the players smell like Boone's Farm.

Chaminade is playing fearlessly and jacking up shots that most teams wouldn't attempt. Their shooting percentage is only about 36 percent, yet they're beating a team that's shooting almost 50 percent.

Our zone D is really, really soft. When McClellan is off, we're basically screwed on the offensive side as well. And it's unacceptable to be losing the boards battle against a team this size.

I guess the bright side is that we don't have Ralph Sampson and we're not exactly UVA getting upset by Chaminade. We have a ton of work to do and a ton of folks to convince that Kabongo needs to be on the floor... like... now.

Whatever the hell he did with Thompson's agent and trainer needs to serve as a warning to anyone else we're currently recruiting. Don't be a dumbass.

We allowed a gimp who hadn't completed an entire season of college basketball to go off for 32 and 9 boards. He didn't have 32 points in college for the prior 4 years up to this point. Total. Ladies and gentlemen, the 2013 Texas Longhorns! We also practically invented the next Jeremy Lin by allowing that backup Taiwanese kid to do whatever he wants.

We only made 3 baskets in the first 10 minutes of the second half, so I see the "third quarter" adjustments that Barnes has neglected for the last couple seasons is rearing its ugly head again. Got way too sloppy with the inconsistent levels of intensity, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Gotta hand it to Chaminade... they made serious adjustments after we started the game on an 8-0 run. They controlled the tempo throughout and made their FTs. Outscored us 82-65 the rest of the night. The offensive boards were truly offensive.

Looks like the basketball team just took the lead for
most embarrassing loss by a UT team in 2012. Losing
by double digits to a DII team after leading 8-0.

Our coaches across the various sports do not seem to be held accountable for much despite the oversized salaries. Beyond swimming and volleyball, is there a he or she who consistently gets the job done? When I was a student, the school president instituted a War on Mediocrity, which have the local comedy writers of the day a wealth of material. The current mediocre performance of the athletic department is not so funny.

DeLoss Dodds has shown to be one of the best at maximizing value and monetizing assets. But what has this gotten us in terms of results on the field and/or court?

There are a bunch of coaches that should be fiired by the end of the year but it won't happen. It's all about money not wins.

Wow to get Beat by a Div II school who's total enrollment is 1200 people in front of a national audience. Hey Rick Barns why don't you get off your *** and put the water bottle down and maybe do some coaching. Wow the 5th highest paid coach in all of bball and gets beat by a tiny school like chaminade what embarrassment.

Michael Center, Men's tennis coach, has done a fine job with limited scholarships. I wouldn't include him in this discussion.

I am upset about the loss, like most fans. And I have been as hard on Rick Barnes as anyone. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt here. This team is completely different with Myck and he was not expecting Myck and Tristan to do something stupid like they did. But, with that said, he does need to adapt and he is paid a lot of money to do that.

This was a learning experience for this young team and something that will stick with them for a while. I actually think this loss helps this team more than it hurts.

1) I'm having a hard time coming up with a more embarrassing loss than this one (in basketball).

2) I think Barnes has taken this program as far as he's capable of and it is time to move on. I'd love to see what Brad Stevens (Butler), Mark Few (Gonzaga) or Shaka Smart (VCU) could do with the talent we get.

Texas didn't get beat, they has their asses handed to them by a D-II school. Losing on a last second shot wouldn't have been acceptable, but at least we could have said, "We'll, **** happens!". In this case I'm left scratching my head. Screw one or two players out, we should have won by 20 with the entire starting lineup missing.

Kabongo not being there certainly was a factor, but I don't buy that excuse, or the youth of the team. Every aspect of the teams performance - and i use that term lightly - was atrocious.

I've never equated a Barnes coached team with execution before - particularly on the offensive end - but as bad as that aspect of the game was, I think it was the lack of intensity at times that concerned me the most.

This was a pathetic performance by the players and coaches.

It was one of the most unwatchable games I've ever seen. No Offense whatsoever. No attempt at defense. And seemingly no effort on the coached to change anything.

Jay Bilas was ripping Texas the entire game. I agree with everything he was saying.

The whole team just looked like they didn't want to be there.

Congrats Rick on being beaten by Chaminade twice in your career. Bang up job.

OK Horns settle down. Rick is doing what he is paid to do and that's to get these kids ready for the pros. He's not being paid to win games. Remember, this is a farm team for the NBA.
