So... anyone going to the game tomorrow again?

Is Myck Kabongo still being held out? Any word on his situation? Some other poster linked a story from October 30th AAS saying team expected a NCAA ruling soon, so it's been two weeks and counting.......

I think the "ruling" will come on December 18. The date that fall classes end.

Sort of reminds me of Michael Jordan's "retirement" from basketball. Myck will be able to return whenever he wants... as soon as his "suspension" is over.

A better overall effort than against Fresno, but still lacking the Kabongo factor that would make a huge difference.

Felix and Ridley showed their inexperience with trying to fit the ball into tight spaces instead of thinking about the play more and kicking it out. I love the effort, but it needs to be coached up and slowed down a bit. Coppin State might truly be that bad... especially with the size mismatches, so we'll face much tougher tests in conference. Or even just in Maui.

McClellan was nails. We won't miss Brown much if he produces like this all the time.

Papi was very good. I can see why Lanier went to great lengths to keep him out of the Gators' grasp.

Rebounding won't be a problem for this team, but fouls on either end of the floor might be. FT shooting was horrendous from the bigs, and I think we got away with a lot of physical stuff that will be called when the talent/prestige level is similar to ours.

Yes, Felix and Ridley definitely show their inexperience and still have to adapt to the speed of the NCAA game. I was quite impressed with Papi and Ibeh. Papi shows confidence and strength...and has a great outside shot. Ibeh was blocking or altering shots left and right and seemed to be okay with the speed of the game. He also was able to control himself more and avoid foul trouble. I think this team will eventually be quite good...especially if Myck comes back and if Bond has matured at all from last year. I like our size and depth...and we needed someone take more of a leadership role on scoring and Mclellan seems to be the guy. I just wish that Lewis could become more consistent. He still plays like a freshman to me.

Lewis will have his AJ Abrams games where he jacks up 13 threes and hits 2 of them. That's his role and his style. He'll also have games where he hits 6 of them and makes a huge difference from the outside, so I'm willing to let it slide against inferior competition.

If it becomes a problem in conference play, I suspect that Barnes would keep Lewis coming off the bench for either the 2 or the 3 spot (if we go small and need outside shots), kind of like Justin Mason did when he was wrapping up his career here. We seem to have a good enough thing going with Felix and Holland, so it wouldn't kill Lewis to have to wait a few extra minutes to hit shots.

It's really nice that we can actually play a center with two forwards to start the game... been a while since we could claim that.

They'll probably do just like they did with Mike Williams and that Texas Tech wide receiver (Jarrett Hicks) .... suspend him from a bunch of games, then find out he didn't do anything and then say "oops, our bad, ok now you can start playing, sorry we just made you skip a bunch of games for nothing".
