that skit with seth rogan and the grease soundtrack was probably the worst thing i have ever seen on tv. ive heard they spend all week and go through a screening process....wtf was that? freaking terrible that anyone got paid for that.

I really expected more. The "Straight and the Bi-Curious" was funny and the Muppett sketch was funny, but that Grease bit was just...unfunny.

It also looked like Seth Rogen has switched from pot to coke.

the show, especially last night, relies so heavily on costumes and make-up to be funny, without actually writting anything funny.

examples of last night:

the muppets
the sunday cartoon characters
old school gospel / country bumpkin singers

i imagine at the table that week, they are laughing.. haha, wouldn't be funny if we did a Cathy impression and Hagar the Horrible impression, and you can dress up like Beeker and you like Gonzo.. and well wasn't early 70's gospel/country singers funny looking, we could dress 2 people up like that..

It's just not funny at all.

The cartoon character skit wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't done the EXACT same skit with Broadway characters a few weeks ago.

keenan thompson has been a writer on that show for 6 years. does anybody think he is funny...last night the laughing sounded like it came from a laugh track. what was that dumb bit he did on weekend update....

This is why they did it... they're trying to get a following for a certain type of skit. It worked in the 80s and 90s for Wayne's World and Celebrity Jeopardy. The problem now (and Lorne Michaels knows it) is that it's hard to market the current cast members as certain "characters" that everyone remembers.

The best actor on that show is Kristin Wiig, and it's not even close. Her characters are excellent, and everyone else is just a fratboy asshat who tries to make people laugh with funny facial expressions.

Last night's episode was horrible, except for the Fast & Bi-Curious and Digital Short.

will forte is amusing in a SNL (not saying much with this cast)kind of way but most of his stuff is tired and boring. you can find better talent in any comedy club in america on any given night.
