Smoke detector went off last night

Dang smoke detector right outside my bedroom went off in the middle of the night. I of course jumped out of bed half expecting to have to make an emergency evacuation but there was nothing going on as far as I could tell. No smoke, no heat, certainly no fire or evidence thereof. It buzzed twice then stopped, but did it again about a half hour later.

Any ideas? It's hard wired so there's no battery. Dust?

Gonna be a tough day at work cuz I'm sleepy as hell and it's only 7:30.

That happened to us the past few nights, too. First at 1:30AM, then at 3AM. Hard wired, no battery. Last night before we went to bed, I vacuumed the bastard really good, and last night -- no alarm. We sleep with the windows open, and I think it is the pollen in the air that causes this problem.

On a good note, they sure do work. I go from dead asleep to heart beating at 125 bpm and at my bedroom door in about .78 seconds.

I have a separate CO detector and it registered nothing.

Guess I need to vacuum it out. For some reason I thought you weren't supposed to do that.

pmg - good one, but no.

Use the spray or condensed air that you use for your computer or parts. A moist cloth too. I have had my battery go out and start beeping to notify me in the middle of the night. That sinking feeling is horrible. I could not go back to sleep even after replacing the battery as it was two hours before i had to wake up. Sucked.
