Slow Draining Sink

Condo on the second floor of two.
My kitchen sink sometimes fills up with water and then after plunging it, slowly drains. I checked the pipes from the disposal to the wall and they are clear and free from debris or buildup.
I ran a dishwasher cycle last night and afterwards both sides of the sink were nearly full of water. Plunged it, and after about 5 minutes it went down. I can hear the water sloshing around when I plunge it.
Any suggestions? Could it have something to do with the dishwasher?

Gracias!

Probably a stoppage in the drain pipe that is past where you looked. You can try using some draino or pour some boiling hot water sown the sink to see if that helps, but I had the same problem a while back and had to call a plumber to snake the drain from the cleanout trap back to the sink.

Since you're on the second floor, and it only seems to be the kitchen sink (I am assuming the first floor condo isn't having any trouble), you probably have a build up in your pipes just past where you looked. Probably grease since plunging only helps a little.

Try using drain-o or some other drain cleaner with a degreaser and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, may be time for the snake......

Drano is OK, but go to a plumbing equipment store (not Home Depot or Lowe's) and buy some "Thrift". It is solid crystals which you pour in your sink and then activates with hot water. It is like Drano to the 100th power but safe on pipes. A plumber recommened it to me about 5 yrs ago, and now I always keep some in stock.
