This is pretty funny. It's a 1986 YouTube clip of Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel in their "At The Movies" TV show reviewing Ferris Beuller and Back to School.

Of course, one of them "gets" both films and the other does not.

FBDO is a good example of why film critics shouldn't review comedies. Fantastic movie that one of them totally doesn't get.

Seeing this subject reminded me of one of the most clueless reviews of all time, Ebert's original take on Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

He totally missed the point, calling it a raunchy comedy and comparing it to Porky's
.

Ebert reviews "Fast Times" from 1982

He can't believe the moviemakers abused the sweet little Jennifer Jason Leigh: according to Amy Heckerling and Cameron Crowe on the DVD commentary, she was so into the part they had to chill her out quite a bit.
