The merger is finally complete! As an owner of Sirius for 4 years and a Stern fan, I am so excited about this. I can't wait to see how the programming is going to be offered.

CEO mel karmazin will be on sterns show tomorrow to answer questions. Definitely checkin that out.

Finally. I've been with XM basically since the beginning and I'm excited to be able to listen Sirius' programming too.

Me too and I am glad the bickering between subscribers can stop. We can unite and join fronts to sway even more to the greatness we get to enjoy. I think many will do just that since they don't have to make a choice of what service to get.

I do hope that not all Sirius stations have as much chatter by the dj's as the 80s channel I have heard, the one with the former MTV VJ, I think Mark Goodman. That sucked and the music was not as underground as the Fred station on XM. But no COMMERCIALS, woohoo.

If we get the best of both then we are friggin' golden. I still won't listen to Opie and Anthony or Howard Stern but the channel lineup, sports and other things is going to freaking fantastic.

I wonder if the suckers doing the HD Radio gimmick feel stupid now.

Mel was on O&A this morning for around an hour. It was very pleasant given the history there.

OK, I've put off getting satellite radio because the two things I want most -- Longhorns and Texas Rangers -- were on different services. Will this merger allow me to get BOTH??

Maybe, but hold tight until they make further announcements. It doesn't look like they've made any concrete decisions on programming, or if they have they haven't told the public.

Tex, the horns have their own channel on XM and baseball has been exclusive to XM for a while so you can have them anytime you want with an XM radio. Mel said on Howard this morning that different programs will be available from XM or Sirius for $4.00 extra a month per the merger agreement. Also the good news is, every receiver since both companies started will be able to receive both signals so you don't have to go buy a new receiver.
