Can someone post the list for this last signing group? This should help with next year's depth as well as to follow for draft signings.

For a lot of high school guys, it's nothing more than signability. Some players make it very clear to the teams showing interest in drafting them that the chances of them signing a professional contract are slim to none, so teams don't waste a pick on them, especially now that contracts have to be signed by August 15. A guy tells you he's not signing, you draft him anyway in the 40th round, the odds of you convincing him to sign in a 2-month period are not very good, so why bother? So I would guess that's why Dicharry was not drafted.

With a guy like Robbie Grossman, he probably did tell teams that he was unlikely to sign, but the Pirates figured if they drafted him high enough, they could change his mind by August 15th. Problem for the Pirates is they don't have the deep pockets to sign a kid like that. They may very well make him an offer, but it's not likely an offer that will be worth giving up a career at Texas and future top-round money.

I didn't realize Austin was listed as the No. 1 prospect in the nation by anybody. I know Baseball America said he had the best curveball at the Area Code Games.

It was my understanding he had a bit of a late-spring swoon that hurt his draft slot. I'm sure signability played a role as well.

In any event, he has the stuff and the athleticism to be a damn good pitcher at Texas. Touigh to make any assumptions about young players, but he definitely has the tools.
