even i have to say that that picture kicks ***. really cool.

as a space nerd and a former houstonian, however, i cant help but be bitter that houston, of all cities, didnt get one of the shuttles.

still a sore spot with me.

I'll concede that this may be a dumb question but, from someone not living in Texas, is the picture real or photoshopped?

Prop you should feel bitter because it was a political decision to reward areas who voted for/will vote again the current president. Houston should have had their pick of the shuttles.

It's real, not photoshop. The shuttle was on it's farewell tour from FL to CA and had left Houston shortly before.

And I agree with Prop and Viper. I live a block from NASA and lost a neighbor on the Challenger. It's really galling that Space Center Houston is left with a damn wooden mock up.

BOO i grew up in clear lake and worked at space center houston as a summer job back in the day.

they gutted JSC. i believe they even took the full mock up (cant remember which building it was in) and the orbiter cockpit simulators from building 9.

really really sad...and as viper said purely political.

frustrates the **** out of me and really is a sore spot.
