Haven't had this happened in previous years. I guess the club level ticket holders have jumped me in recent years.

Thank you for your loyalty and support of Texas Athletics. Your passion is unmatched and has directly helped elevate our football program to its first College Football Playoff Semifinal appearance. The future has never looked brighter for our Longhorns, and you have been with us along the way all season long. We received your request for tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on January 8 in Houston. Unfortunately, due to the limited supply of tickets each team receives and the most demand we have ever seen from our Longhorn Foundation members, we are unable to fulfill your request for tickets should Texas advance to that game. Your credit card on file will not be charged.
Our allotment for the national championship game is 20,000 tickets out of the 72,220 seats in NRG Stadium. This allotment also covers tickets for our students, our outstanding Longhorn Band and our football student-athletes and staff families. We received over 33,000 ticket requests from our season ticket holders and donors, and that doesn’t even include the demand from our nearly 20,000 UT students with the Big Ticket. While we were able to fulfill approximately 7,000 additional tickets than what we received for the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the demand from our amazing supporters like yourself is unmatched.
This is not the news we had hoped to deliver. We understand your frustration and wish there were more seats to allocate.

Assume the top 4000 donors get 4 tickets each on average, that is 16k tickets. The balance goes to band, families, etc. I am ranked 4700 or so and got shut out.

Good info. I went to look at my loyalty points. Had no idea where I stood. 5400 out of 40827. You're ahead of me and your calculation makes sense.

I believe it would be cost effective to enroll for the minimum class hours, buy the Big Ticket blanket tax, and sit in the student section. Hell, the value of Georgia tickets alone would pay tuition. In fact, the more I think about it, I’m truly serious. We have seven home games. Tuition alone, no books or room and board isn’t a monster hurdle. I wish I hadnt put it on here, i’m just driving competion!

Not sure what is the minimum number of class hours for the big ticket, but 12 hours of class is $6k per semester.

MC,

There are over 20,000 big ticket holders, 40,000+ season ticket holders, and we got 13,000 tickets to cover 60,000+ requests. Economically, it is less expensive to establish a relationship with a scalper.

I do not have extra tickets, nor am I looking for any. I was just trying to help you navigate the site to find your message.
