in the college world series championship? i'm finding it hard to do. regardless, their backs are against the wall as they are down 0-1 (best of 3) to ASU who's pitcher dominated them last night. the player for ASU that drove in their runs almost hit for the cycle.

I don't mind seeing the Aggies win. I'm certainly not 'cheering' for either team. If this was a major sports program like football, basketball, or baseball... I might have a different opinion.

Oh, and since when are softball players so attractive?

I have been fighting it as well. My loyalty is to UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, yes the state I am loyal to as well, but it 100% against my religion to root for A&M period.

What is that? Looks silly.

They are a woman's school for womens sports. It is what they do best. I don't root against them in their best area, women's athletics, but I don't think they have a chance. Good luck though.

Since a&m has already gone farther than we ever have, and they have done it with equal to less talent, if they win tonight at least, will it make Plonsky and Dodds take a more serious look at our program and make some serious changes? Maybe we want aggie to win if it means our program could improve.

No. But its easy for me since both parents are ASU alums. Sun Devils have been my other team for a lot of years.

i wasn't rooting for them. really didn't matter. they were going to get spanked whether or not i had out some maroon pom poms.

So has Coach Evans outrecruited us or has she done a better job developing her talent than we have? Looking at the rosters, Texas has 2 Cali girls, 1 Zona girl, 1 from Ill who I believe started as a walk-on, and the rest from Texas. (And the Cali/Ariz numbers are down from the past) A&M has all Texas girls save one who was a transfer from Notre Dame, from Johnson City Ill.

A&M's BA's range from .252 to .447, ours range from .111 to .355 (not counting Schroeder, Tresselt, and Denny) this year. And this is after hiring a hitting coach. Are we being outrecruited or are we not doing enough to develop talent? We should do better with or without Cat Osterman.

I don't know if they've recruited better players (I think they probably have, overall). But this year, they had a very deep and senior loaded lineup, and that's how you win big in most college sports. Some of these players have played a lot for 3 or 4 years, and it shows. It takes a team to win a game (including extra pitchers, especially in the post season).

And blueag - how in the world did you get that I was saying we had a moral victory? I realize at Moral Victory U, that's how you see everything. Would it be a moral program victory? How are those scored? Is there a trophy?

Oh somehwere in this favored land
the sun is shining bright.
A band is playing somewhere,
and somewhere hearts are light.
Somewhere men are laughing,
and somewhere children shout.
Not so in College Station;
aggy softball has struck out!!!!

I can answer that question.......

Both Scarboro and Gibson are better pitchers than our # 1 pitcher Denny. That right there helps out a team tremendously.

WE NEED PEOPLE THAT CAN HIT THE BALL!!!!

Even with CAT on the mount.......TECH, IOWA, A&M, OSU all beat us because we couldn't get any runs.

We can have another CAT in the future and unless we get some hitters, the UCLAs, AUs, etc will beat us with average pitchers because they will also have the hitter to give them some run support.

Barnhill was the TEXAS player of the year, so I expect her to be great next year. To be #1 in the state of TEXAS, you've have to back it up.

OU and A&M should be the only team in the Big 12 to compete with us....OU has a national championship and A&M has 2. It is unacceptable to lose to Missouri, ISU, TECH, KU, etc.

We will be back!! But there needs to be some changes.

The hitting coach was hired out of UTSA and they had the home run record for several years, but that doesn't mean anything. The other pitchers in their conference aren't as good as the pitchers in the Big 12, SEC, PAC 10, etc. You hire a coach with the home run title out of those conferences and I will assure you that you will see a difference in less than 2 years.

Scarboro and Gibson were good from the beginning....how is that if Denny was the player of the year??? Whoever is doing the evaluation is obviously missing something.

Denny was good, but if you compare her as a freshman against the others as freshmen....the others were a whole lot better

As seen....Denny couldn't take TEXAS to the WCWS.....both Scarboro and Gibson did.
