Should Kim Yarbrough Go to Jail?

Very sad situation, I read about it a couple of days ago. To watch a loved one in terrible health go downhill, to the point where you wish they would pass away quickly to end their suffering a tragic, but very understandable condition, but if you assist the process you can be called a murderer.
I wouldn't vote to send her to jail if I were on a jury, although it would depend on the evidence, I suppose.

Charge, try, convict, probation.

There is no way in hell she deserves to go to prison -- she's already done her time in hell. But she should be convicted for what she did, no matter how understandable it was.

And having been in her position for a brief time (taking care of my terminally ill mother), I can understand why she did it. There were times when I just wanted to put a pillow over my mother's head and end her -- and our -- suffering. I definitely understand.

That doesn't make it right.

If it had been "assisted suicide", it would be perfectly legal in Oregon, Washington state, and a hand full of countries.

When the baby boomers start going all alzheimers, we might see a few more enlightened states accept the concept. I doubt that will ever happen in this back-*******-assward-state we live in.

Sadly she should be tried and covicted of murder and sent to Prison... because that's what the law says... right?

The laws are influenced by those so blinded by "sanctity of life" folks that this is where you end up. We should have the right to end our lives humanely and without causing those we love most to commit crimes in an effort to end our suffering.

I believe that a grand jury, (or the criminal jury) will do what is right.

I have absolute faith in my peers.

She will never be convicted of murder in Texas.

"Please do us all a favor, (yourself included), and move.

Thanks in advance."

I don't plan on leaving after being here for 5 generations, but I'd have to say the pubs have things more ****** up than any other time since my family's been here.

A couple more house seats and the bad guys are done.

I try to look at the overall picture-if I am on the jury, and I feel it was an act of mercy, I would not vote to send her to jail, regardless of what the law says. If there is evidence she did it to "get the old fart off her hands" I would vote to convict her.
I might not be a good juror for this case, but I doubt I would be the only one who would decide the matter this way.
