Still 2 weeks to go in the regular season, but I am really looking forward to the tournament....for several reasons.
1) Can't remember when Texas last won this thing. I believe even with the Final Fout team with T.J. they lost in the finals. I think this team can win it, and that might be what it will take to secure a 1 seed. If Texas can sweep the last 5 regular season games, this might not matter as much. K-State will be very tough on Monday.
2) There really is no clear-cut favorite that the rest are just simply hoping to knock off. I think Kansas is clearly the most talented team, but there are several teams capable of beating them.
3) Teams like Baylor, ou, and possibly A&M depending on how they finish their last 5, will be playing hard to secure an invite to the big dance. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see any of them in the Big XII championship game.
The Big XII is as competitive as it's been in a while. Had Mizzou avoided their current mess, it would have been even moreso. And, just as last year, the conference features perhaps the best player in the country in Beasley. Kansas City will be a fun place to be in a few weeks.
