Short yardage plays

And how about Murphy as a lead blocker and short yardage receiver out of the backfield!!!

I love it when Linemen get Touchdowns!

I suspect we will see a little more of the Wildhorn next few games.

What I like to see is fake Wildhorn up the middle and jump pass to Helm for a TD vs. ou!

I would worry about Red's size on a jump pass. Hard to see if your guy is open until you're already up in the air at his height. Always thought Sam was ideal for that.

The double reverse on 3rd and 1 was a head scratcher. I think we were lucky to make it back to line of scrimmage, but I guess if it woulda gone for a TD I'd be pressing the call.

Hopefully that was our one bad game.

My all-time favorite short yardage play is for the line to get foot to foot and fire out low, creating a pile. An acrobatic RB then takes the handoff with a running start, and dives high over the pile for the touchdown (or first down).

For a moment, everything is right in the universe when that play is well executed.

Johnny "Sky" Walker, who cleared 7 ft in full pads.

Our coaches never used James Lott for that, but he made a helluva defender on the fade routes.

With Neyor's 46" vertical, he might be a candidate. Personally, I'd like to see him trying to block place kicks like Brian Robinson did.

I like the "Jakeem Grant" play that Tech burned us in 2015. They called it "Little People Big World" with the hidden back running a counter all the way across the field.

Oh boy, i cant let my wife see this.
She suggested the same thing except she called it a ‘drop pass’
I love her dearly, together 35 years, but its rare we watch a complete UT game in the same room.

That quick slant on 4th down was a decent idea, and came the closest to getting in the end zone. It was reminiscent of the Colt McCoy days. Maybe we try that some more. Do we not have an RB who can leap/dive over the pile for the TD?

Why the **** do run behind the WORST OL the program has had in 50 years? He gets his lard *** shoved back into the blocker and the RB
