I went to the shootaround today at Reliant. Team shot around for about 30 mins and then signed autographs. I sat about 15 rows up and the staduim is set up ok, not the best but i think most football stadiums are set up that way when they play baskeball in them. Just imagining the view from the upper deck makes me not want to sit there. it is far, very far.
All the players looks lose and were smiling and having fun. Barns was there talking to Nance and Packer, i think. they were on the other side so i couldnt tell from far away. They didnt run much but GJ's ankle look good, no limp or heistation. DJ and AJ had a 27 foot contest on one side while JD and James were on the other side. GJ shot most of his shots from the R baseline. Lot of 3 balls from AJ, DJ, Atch, James, Mason, JD . Post men did a drill for 5 mins, where they catch the ball at the free throw line make a fake move and go to the bucket. DJ has the best pure shot/stroke on the team, imo. It was beautiful to look at. AJ is much faster but DJ is more of a pure shot. No official "practice" took place, but just a fun shootaround.
Our future inside look very bright. GJ, Dex, Wang, Chapman and Hill (limited shooting) looked very athletic and good. Another offseason and they should be much better. Potential for all to be very good to 1st team Big 12 is there. Wang will be a beast. Chapman is more athletic than i though. Dext needs to refine a few things but he looked good too.
