Yup, it was that game at the Steelers for the AFC championship...Earl's second year, maybe? Pastorini threw a pass to the corner of the endzone to a WR whose name escapes me right now...Mike Somebody? The WR juggled it a little bit but it appeared to me, the entire city of Houston, and Bum that it should have been a TD. But home-cookin' prevailed and the ref waved it off.

That was the 1979 game, which I remember wathcing as a teen. I was a huge Oiler fan, and couldn't believe it. As much as I hate to admit, the call it really didn't matter. Oilers lost by two touchdowns. Yeah, you can argue momentum, whatever, but we lost by two TDs, not one.

I was fortunate to be able to have done the same about 4 years ago. It was a golf tourney put on by a slew of former Oilers. Just so happened that Pastorini played in this scramble also. Dude's still pretty damn stout & taller than I expected.

Bum only stayed long enough to kick off the event, still wearing his traditional cowboy hat and had his sweet wife by his side. The respect all those former players showed to Bum and Mrs. Phillips was deafening. I witnessed a few wiping tears away.

I remember that damn Steelers game all too well. ******* Steelers. Dammit, now I have to root for Greenbay. ****!

Right, it was Mike Renfro... a receiver who came out of TCU and was nails. Missing that call was absurd.
