shipping a brisket?

How would one go about shipping an already cooked brisket cross country?

How do places like Kreuz or Coopers do it? Or has anyone here ever done it without getting the recipient ill? How much would I be looking to spend?

I had Salt Lick shipped out to CA for TX/OU weekend. It seemed like they just froze the meat and shipped it 2nd day air in a styrofoam cooler. If there was dry ice in the cooler it completely evaporated but I don't think there was any. The Salt Lick charged ~$40 to ship.

What orangehair said, they sent 35 lbs of meet to SF for my Texas Ind. party last year, and the briscuit was perfect. Really nice and easy to deal with over the phone. Ordering on their website was a pain, skip it.

But why would you order from the SaltLick?

That's a great sig Orangehair.

Freeze the sucker solid and pack it in a styrofoam cooler with a hunk of dry ice about the size of a brick. The dry ice will evaporate by the time it arrives, but it will stay plenty cold.

Don't forget to tell FedEx or whoever that you're sending dry ice.
