Shiner Smokehaus?

anyone had this? the idea of smoked beer during the summer isn't exactly appetizing, but I've read good reviews.

Friend of mine at work told be he drank some the night before last. He loved it.

It's merely OK to me. The smoke flavor is barely noticeable. I have drank 2 so far and will finish the 6er eventually, but I won't buy anymore.

If you haven't read up on it, it is just the Shiner Helles with the malt being smoked with mesquite during the process.

Not bad, but not great.

I thought the smoked taste was pretty prevalent. It's good though-- a great choice if you're eating meat, for sure.

where is anyone finding this? Is it a six pack or another one of those mixed packs?

I went to Randall's last night and they had it in a six (7.99) and a twelve (11.99) pack. I opted for the twelve. Haven't tried it yet, and probably won't until the weekend or next week, but I have high hopes.

I generally am not that big a fan of Shiner but I thought this was a good summer beer. I didn't notice the alleged smoky flavor, which was fine. It also didn't give me heartburn like a lot of Shiner beers do.

It was mediocre. I only detected a slight smoky flavor. I wouldn't go out of my way to drink it, but I wouldnt shun it either. Actually I wouldn't shun any beer.

I was thoroughly underwhelmed and glad I drank one somebody else bought.
