Shiner 99

I bought a 6 pack last week. Supposed to be a "Munich style". What does that mean? I liked it. It seemed less dark than 97 or the bock.

I tried this one Friday and really liked it. As described on Shiner's website, it is a bright, gold lager.

I really enjoyed it; however, Shiner Black (97) is still my favorite.

I thought that 1896 was the only one? If there are multiple 189x beers that I don't know about, I will need to pluck up and get back in the saddle. Neuroanatomy be damned, I will not go soft!

I realize that Shiner 97 and 99 are different styles. I was just asking what type of beer 99 was.

And Maduro, a couple of years ago Shiner started counting down to 100 years old with the Shiner 97. They decided to make a special brew every year until they hit 100. The Shiner 97 was so popular they brought it back as "Shiner Black". They had a Shiner 98 as well but I don't remember it. Shiner 99 is pretty good.

O/T, Fied...your sig guy played in a qualifying tournament over this past weekend trying to play into a berth in an AVP (Assoc. of Volleyball Professionals) Beach VB Tournament in Miami.

Predictably, it did not go well. Volleyball is a much more difficult game than most people think it is.

The qualifying tourney is a 32-team single-elimination event preceding the main draw. The top 4 teams earn berths in the 24-team double-elim main draw. Fiedler and his much more experienced partner, Marcus Macau, were eliminated easily in the first round of the qualy.

I thought this might be a pr thing, but I can't find anything to indicate that. Maybe, though.

I tried a Shiner 99 a month back. Then I had a Miller Lite soon after. I could barely tell a difference. Two thumbs down.
