Last night, Duncanville defeated Lewisville in their opener 99-69. Shawn scored 34.

I didn't go to the game, just saw the line score in the DMN. Dville led after 3Q by 80-44, so I am guessing that he rested a bit in Q4.

I will try to catch a game or two as I live in the area, but they play out of state / out of area a lot in pre-district. I will post when I watch him play, with the disclaimer that I am not a coach / scout.

I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express however.

That is pretty incredible, even for Shawn Williams, considering Duncanville's whole starting five is going to D1 schools and most are top 100 or higher prospects...

He will be in town (Houston) tonight and through the weekend with a ton of other top Texas teams in the McDonald's Texas Invitational. I am going to try and get to at least one game, if possible. If I do, I plan on taping the game and trying to put it online.

FYI - any Horns in FL should try and catch the City of Palms Classic. Tons of top teams playing in it, including Duncanville. On another note, unfortunately, it looks like Vision Sports isn't doing the Houston vs. The Nation Tournament in late December this year. At least nothing is brewing on their website about it.

Looks like I am not going to make it tonight. I should have brought my stuff with me to work and just stayed down there (Pearland). I just got home from running an errand and traffic is still a beast going back out of town. Maybe this weekend.

Duncanville beat both opponents tonight.

Alief Taylor by 30 and North Forrest by 43. I would expect them to play in the championship game on Sunday.

As I expected, Duncanville will be playing SA Madison in the championship game tonight. It will be on local tv in Houston (Ch. 55) at 8 pm or you can watch it in person at the Phillips Fieldhouse in Pasadena.

I watched the game against Atascosita yesterday on my lunch break. Duncanville ran them out of the gym. I forgot exactly how many points Williams had, but it was in the 15-17 range. His jump shot is real smooth with a nice arc. He played all but the last 5 minutes of the game and he really didn't even look like he was tired; same goes for the entire team. Williams is rocking an awesome flat top too!

I was actually really impressed with another kid on the team - 6'11", Jr. F, Perry Jones. The kid can do everything, including leading the fast break. He his very good with the ball, which you wouldn't really expect from a big man. It looks like he is going to Baylor with his teammate Jamison Sterns (sign my buddy and I will come to your school??). Sterns actually played really well in the game and I think his parents sat in front of me. Dude looks more like a football player, but he is very smart on the floor, as indicated by two great passes for easy putpacks, and has a really nice jump shot with range.

Oh, yeah, Duncanville won 87-40. Their coach is kind of strange. I kept hearing what I thought was a woman screaming at various points in the game. Then I realized that it was actually their coach. It was pretty comical. He would stomp his feet when he as unhappy with calls. Reminded me of Jerry on Boston Legal in a sense.

On last tidbit. Roger Franklin, who is a senior with Williams, also had very nice game. Franklin is signed with Ok. State for next year. I lied, one more. Atascosita has a player, Jamal Branch PG 2011, that is solid to A&M. He didn't play at all because of injury (hip flexor).

Ghost, Stearns is a Baylor legacy. He's also no longer committed to Baylor. He tends to play like a black hole. He's an incredible athlete and does have a sweet stroke, but he's too small to be a SG (though Abrams play has started to change my mind on that). If Stearns could learn to play more within the team concept, he has the ability to be a Top 100 National player, imo.

so someone tell me how they lost.

I would assume because stearns and williams jacked up a lot of long range shots that didn't go in.

CoChamps - Yes, as well as my Mom, both grandperents, etc. Mom still lives up there.

Clifton Mc Neeley only coached basketball for 8 years In a small town that played in the largest classification (4A back then) Regardless, he won 4 state titles, & 2 runner up trophys during the 8 years & never coached again. (Beacame an administrator & moved to Irving) The basketball fieldhouse bears his name & he is considered the John Wooden of HS ball by most Pampans. It's pretty hard to argue with his record, & both of his sons became excellent coaches too.

Duncanville lost to San Antonio Madison in the tourney championship game. Best not to mess with bularry. He follows this stuff well. He may not always be right, but he knows what he's talking about.

I don't have an answer for you, bularry, other than Madison has a good high school team, and Duncanville had been reading too many of its press clippings. They're almost too talented for their own good.

Duncanville lost in OT to SA Madison (83-81). I haven't watched the game on my DVR, but from reading the recap, Duncanville fouled out two of their big men late in the game and then had problems with FTs down the stretch and in OT. Williams had 18, IRC.
