Setting up Facebook Page for Youth League

What would be the best option for setting up a Facebook page for our little league?

I have an account, so should I just form a "group"? Or should I set up a stand-alone account for the League?

The main use of FB for the league would be for last-minute announcements of rainouts, schedule changes, etc.

Not an expert on this but I think a group would work but people would have to subscribe for e-mail updates to get last minute changes like rain delays automatically.

FB would probably work best for general schedule information and an e-mail list would probably be better for last minute updates.
 
FWIW, back when I was coaching youth sports (mainly football and softball), I typically created a "group" on yahoo groups. It served as an email list plus it also had a home page where I could post information like maps to tournaments, etc. It seemed like a good way to communicate with the team, etc.
