Setting up a share over wireless router

I have a wireless router with my home PC connected with a CAT 5 and two laptops via 802.11g. I never set up a network at home, but I need to share a folder on one laptop. Anyone got a quick step-by-step? I appreciate it.

START > My Computer > My Network Places > click on the c: drive to find the folder you want to share > click on the folder you want to share > Click on Share this Folder.

Thank you, washpark, but after doing that, I am not able to even locate the computer from another computer in my house. I shared the folder, but do I need to do something to make the laptop "visible" to other PCs in my home?

find out the laptop's network name and goto the home pc and type //"the laptop name" (without the ") in windows explorer to see if the laptops are viewable on the network

When i did this, I went ahead and set up both machines to have a "shared docs" folder -- that way the wizard would walk me through the steps to ensure they were both on the same workgroup and would talk to eachother.

Make sure that the computers are in the same workgroup for easy browsing. If you have a software firewall on the laptops, set a local network permission with the IP addresses of all three machines to allow access.
