This has nothing to do with on the field or the rivalry. It has to do with being human and a nice gesture.
Tonight while watching the show, Undercover Boss, the COO of the MGM Grand property went undercover. A Blackjack dealer was a 62 y.o. Vietnam War veteran. He mentioned he is a big Sooner fan and the COO was too even though he went to UNLV. I did not get how but hey, it happens.
The Vet was awesome and had a good story as many somehow do on this show, hmmm. It turns out that the surprise for him was courtesy of Bob Stoops. The COO is friends with him and spoke to Bob about the Vet. Bob gave him some seats in his private box for the game of his choice with his family. That is so cool and the guy was about to burst into tears.
That is so cool to see a fan of a team get something like this no matter who the team is. Bob also provided a helmet signed by himself and others whose names I could not tell. Maybe it was just a message?
Anyway, it meant a lot to that man and it was a great gesture for Stoops to do when he did not have to. Hats off this time!
Oh, the game the man chose? The Red River Rivalry game in October! Duh.
