September Choke Job

The Rangers are taking the term September choke job and giving it a whole new meaning. This is just awful baseball to watch and with the seventh loss in a row tonight now in the books it is hard to see a scenario where they turn it around. in fact, they may fall entirely out of the playoffs by the end of play tomorrow. Losing Nellie's bat was always going to hurt but this past week as the moribund offense has cost them game after game, it has really come home to roost.

It is bad and it goes right on Daniels. You lose three important bats in the off season with the only replacement being a cripple. The results speak for themselves.

However the owners did it to themselves by cutting Nolan out of the player decision process. Hopefully Nolan will to go to the owners shortly after the season is over with the "I told you so" speech.

After dropping a series to KC, the Rangers are now 5-15 in September and are 1.5 back for the final wild card spot. Texas has 3 left with the Astros and 4 against the Angels, but with the offense continuing its anemic ways (9-55 w/RISP on this road trip and terrible base running to boot) I don't expect things to get any better.

I feel another disappointing end to what I hoped to be a promising season coming on.
