Hello. I have been assigned the task of getting my companies web site listed in most search engines, top results. They are requesting this get done ASAP. There is a lot riding on this. PLEASE HELP!!

Be careful. If you try to game Google using techniques they don't like they'll drop you like a rock. Did they give you any kind of budget? For quick results, you might be better off with PPC advertising.

You get what you pay for in the SEO world. I've never had a customer be successful by just reading a few web pages. I have a friend who does this for a living and her site is: Sparkx
She also has a one day class to get you going if you don't want to hire her.

There is nothing magical about SEO. I'm a "do it yourselfer" who has been successful with it by reading the net and experimenting. Anyone can do it.

You didn't mention what your business is, but perhaps the successful DIYers do not require your services?

Oh, and the "you get what you pay for" is decidedly not necessarily true in the SEO world. There are more scammers in the business than in used car sales. I wrote some articles about that too.

Hello...Well I have spoken with the partners. They have approved some payment to get this listed and good exposure. They have not set a budget as they want me to present them with some options. Does anyone have a good price/benefit breakdown of costs for something like this

You are going to need to include in your budget the price of a couple of beers and maybe a lap dance or two for the fellas that help you out.

Do they want you to outsource or do it yourself? If you are going to outsource, just get some quotes from folks you think can help you.

If you are going to do it yourself, make an outline of what you plan to do and then start estimating dollars for your effort and/or direct costs.

I think CL may be on to something there....

Any ideas on how to get your self off of the search engines?

If you do a google search for my name, you get multiple listings. I would just as soon not be on the internet.

Don't post your name on sites you do not control/edit. On sites you control, either edit your name out or disallow spiders from either crawling or caching the page.
