Missed two in round of 16 and 1 in round of 8, if the trend holds these two should both be correct so....

Netherlands over Uruguay (No Suarez and the Dutch are riding a wave of momentum with Robben playing exceptionally well I see the Dutch getting a couple of goals to make the final)

Spain over Germany (the Germans are playing better than anyone and have the speed and tactical ability to win any game so why Spain, I cant say I just have a feeling this is Spain's year but will readily admit the Germans look to be the best team in the tourny).

i have a difficult time seeing anyone beating germany. they are just clicking at the absolute right time in the right way.

Germany kills the rest of the field. What's scary is how young that team is. 2014 in Brazil will be an odds on favorite to win the cup again. Hopefully US can get Klinsmann or Dunga and get us prepared for a halfway decent run. I'd settle for a semifinal match.

Germany is not just winning, they are routing the opponents, and shoving their noses in it. And they are doing this to good teams. Can't pick against them.
Did you see that offsides play, the five or six German defenders stepped up like robots and no less than four Argentines were off-sides. Most obvious off-sides play of all-time. OK, maybe not , but impressive teamwork by the Germans.
Then I don't see how Uruguay scores without their best offensive weapon, Suarez, one of the big stars of the tournament, and they probably wouldn't win even with the guy.
All European final, Germany versus Holland.

If Germany plays at the level they have p[layed in the last two matches, no one will be able to stop them. However, much like sand aggy, they tend to "take entire games off at times".

Germany is playing the best ball right now, hands down. But if I had to find a counter point, it would be that their last two opponents in elimination games have been against arguably two of the most exposed and overrated teams in this WC - England and Argentina.

If Spain doesn't give up an early goal to open up further German counter attack opportunities, I think Spain can run with them and has the creativity and skill to score and win. Hats off to Paraguay, btw. They played their asses off.

No way to not pick the Dutch against a Suarez-less Uruguay, but who knows.

Had USA-NED vs ESP-GER since the Round of 16. After we lost, my feel good final was NED-ESP with NED winning it all. No problem with Germany winning it, but I'd like to see NED win it since they are the next most deserving team, historically, to have not won it. If not, then I'd like to see Spain take it for the same reason.

Gotta give Uruguay props for being a semi final team and playing Nederlands hard to the end. The fact that they finished 5th in CONMEBOL and made it to South Africa on a playoff win....they were an unlikely side to get this far. I think they peaked at the right time in this tournament. I'm certain after the way they played today that they will get a result against Spain for a deserved 3rd place.

Wow so fantastic to see the Dutch in the final...here's hoping they finally take home the title after two previous championship game appearances. And I agree that Netherlands-Spain is the dream matchup; almost impossible to believe the Spainards have just one prior semi-final appearance (4th place) and that coming 60 years ago.

As far as today's contest I agree with the entire population of Europe (outside of Germay of course), and probably most of the world as well....the collective feeling all along has been ANYONE BUT GERMANY. Of course the Germans have looked great the past couple of matches but barely got by Ghana and lost to Serbia in the group stages, so who knows which squad will show up today.

Netherlands vs. Spain in the final - perfect!!

Germany has also countered with precision once ahead. They had the fortune of no Les Ferdinand and no Walter Samuel. Central defenders with nerve can allow a team to pressure on the other end and reduce chances for put-away counters. We'll see if Pique looks lost again. I thought he was a disaster against Paraguay.

There was mention of Podolski having an off game. If you watch Bayern regularly a few years back, that was his norm. Amazing the level he, Klose, and Schweinsteiger are playing. Schweinsteiger and Ozil actually make Germany fun to watch. I haven't enjoyed their style ever except flashes from Rumenigge or Klinsmann.

I doubt Puyol will let play behind him as Terry and Upson did on both of the 1st 2 goals in Ger v Eng. I've never seen Terry chasing.

I can't explain Germany over Argentina except for efficient finishing by the Germans.

I think Spain relishes attacking this defense up the middle compared to Paraguay and Portugal. And they will get a first half lead. Then we will see.

20 min in, it's shaping up more or less how I expected. Germany has been denied an early goal, and absent early conditions for a counter attack, they have looked fairly pedestrian so far. Spain is doing well with possession, and has been creative around the penalty box on several occassions.
