Selling airline miles

I know I saw this posted a while back but I could not find the thread.

Any information you have regarding selling miles would be appreciated. Specifically through American (AAdvantage miles).

Thanks

AAdvantage miles are not transferable except through the shareAAmiles program, which limits the total amount that can be transferred annually and carries a hefty transaction fee. If you are a member of another loyalty program, you may be able to exchange your AAdvantage miles on points.com. If it is cash that you want, then you may be able to convert your miles into gift certificates on points.com and then sell the gift card to generate cash.

I don't know the website, but there is someone out there (probably more than one) that will act as a broker for your miles. You list your miles with him, other people come to him for cheap airline tickets. He gets money from them and he has you make the reservation for them with your miles, then he pays you a portion of what he charged them for the ticket.

It's obviously not quite on the up and up, but there is nothing stopping you from using your miles to buy a ticket for someone else. This guy is just the middle man. It sounded a little fishy to me, but I know several people who've used the service and were happy with it.

I bet someone on here knows the guy's website .

As long as you put the the person that is flying name on the ticket/reservation I think it would legal. If you are deceptive as to who is using the ticket, that is illegal.

The point is that selling miles by ticketing someone else against your AAdvantage account is something that is tracked, contrary the terms & conditions of the AAdvantage program, and, in certain cases, punished. American has the right to enforce the terms & conditions that you have agreed to, so you shouldn't be surprised if they do. If you use a broker to do so then American will probably find more value in busting the broker instead of you. That, and the possibility that you may not care about your AAdvantage account, is what you have going for you.

The title of your post led me to believe that you played for either Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, or Miami.

i have been selling miles for 10 plus years for thousands of dollars. If you are not stupid than it is easy. nobody is going to jail.

you need to relax.

yes, relax

you can make a reservation for anyone you want to with your miles. The fact you charge the person you are making the reservation for does not need to be known by AA.com. Unless you tell them they will never know. As mentioned, it is not illegal, it's just "against their rules". **** their arbitrary rules. They can charge me for the ridiculous notion of actually bringing luggage on a plane, but I can't sell miles I've earned? **** you.

It's the same thing with SW vouchers
