Anyone here own a Segway?
I rode one for an hour or two in Chicago this weekend. Now I'm totally hooked. I was concerned about riding around in heavy pedestrian traffic, but these things are a breeze to control, even at the very slowest speeds in the tightest of conditions. Walking now seems like good excercise, but a crappy way to get somewhere.
I'm dying to buy one, but I'm having a hard time plunking down $5,000 without having any idea of how long I can expect it to last.
How long to the batteries last?
How long to the tires last?
How long does the motors and gyros last?
I make lots of short trips alone in my car. I can see putting a Segway to good use. I'm currently mapping out a 2.6 mile route to my office via back streets and sidewalks.
Any real world experiences out there???
