That's all I heard today from the citizens of Omaha. Hotel staff, waiters, bartenders, taxi drivers and airport employees. Virtually every local I crossed paths with last night and today said "it was a great series" and "see you next year."

I'm proud to be a fan of a team that's expected to be in the College World Series every year.

Maybe, if it's not too "girly" for all of you guys that have been a few times, how about some pointers and reviews on where to stay etc... ?

We stayed at Harrah's across the river, primarily because we are a bunch of 40-somethings that were more interested in throwing dice into the wee hours of the morning, than pounding beers. The "Old Market" area of downtown is the place to stay if you're bar hopping and looking for more late night activities. Rosenblatt is less than a 10-minute ride from either site, and the casinos are right across the river. I know that North Carolina was at the Hilton Garden Inn down there on the edge of Old Market. There are a ton of those type places within a two or three mile radius. I never heard where Texas stayed.

The casinos sound good to me. Texas stayed at the Doubletree. Did you mostly cab it?

This was my first trip, and we plan on going every year that Texas is there from now on.

I found a really good local BBQ place called Hartland Barbecue in Omaha. Highly recommend it. Been open one year, and the local paper has already declared it best BBQ in town. Stayed at the Holiday Inn that's right next to the Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs. Except for the proliferation of LSU fans, that was a good experience.
