Plain and simple it is run, run and run. The Paris twins have not been able to keep up with teams who run the court the whole game. Then we need to shoot the lights out, take care of the ball, and rebound.

Oh, don't forget the crushing, trapping defense.

A&M definitely wanted to run but they never got the chance in the OU game....and watching them try to run a half-court offense was awful.

Texas can run the break, and score out of the half-court offense. defensively, though, i think we would be better playing man-up pressure defense. and switching guard-to guard....instead of trapping. at least against the OU starters, because they don't turn the ball over a lot. they can get out of the trap and find the open man. i really don't want to see a repeat of the Purdue game, with us constantly chasing to trap, and being a step behind every time. too many easy buckets in that game.

Deny CP the ball, rebounds, etc. to break her double double streak. They will continue to throw the ball into her to keep the streak alive and we win by 10 rebounds and 10 points. LOL!

I agree Cynt! But, does anyone agree that we could have more success with CP by having our bigs stay behind her instead of fronting her? Not sure she could shoot OVER either one of them...and also leaves us in a better position at blocking her out if/when she misses. REBOUNDS, REBOUNDS!!!!!

I'm ready for the Horns to play 40 minutes of b-ball...we win if we play like we know how for the WHOLE game.
 
i get so tired of hearing about her streak. all i know is she's never won a National Championship and she's never been to the Final Four. it got broke last year some time against Ole Miss or somebody like that but they went back and "found" some more rebounds for her to keep it alive.
 
So how do we slow down Robinson? Do we put Earnie our defensive stopper on her or the faster Raven on her? I think key players we need to slow down are AP, CP and Robinson.

AP - Kat/Earnie. AP kills a team slowly and earns quiet points. She's a silent storm waiting to go off. I just don't want her to explode on us.
Robinson - Earnie/Raven and I think Font could keep her in check as well.
CP - Gayle and/or Lindsey
Hand - Carla

I am sooo excited about this game. 40 minutes ladies, 40 minutes. We can't afford to take one play off. If you're tired we'll sub you out for a fresh body. I think this will be a good chess match between the coaches.
 
CP also does all of her damage right under the basket. If we could figure out a way to stop her from lingering under the basket and RUN, RUN, RUN we will definitely tire her out which shouldn't take long.
 
Lets not 4get that there's fast and then there north carolina fast, if UNC couldn't run, run, run, on Courty thin I don't think texas can, that said the post player from UNC pulled Paris away from the basket, and Texas does not have a post player that can put up points like Tina charles of Uconn so I think texas guard will have to beat OU
 
the way to stop OU is prevent them from shooting from outside. they had no outside game last year and the Lady Bears swept them. if texas can hold their guards down, they can win tomorrow. if not, we'll have us a battle for #1 on wednesday night in Waco
 
y'all didnt do much of either. 6 treys for OU (that's 18 points for the aggies in the crowd). and texas shot just 2 of 12 from behind the arc.
 
Yeah, for sure....we hung in there the first half, but just could not get anything going the 2nd half....just some bone-head lapses on defense...I can accept it from the Freshmen, but where the H were our Seniors? CC ok, but Earnie was non-existent, and we could not stop CP in the paint....she got about 10 offensive rebounds....pitiful.

Highlight of game? AG dragging A. Paris to the floor, and AP getting a Technical and tossed from game.....I thought AG was going to rip Paris' head off when AP threw the ball at AG's head, but Carla was there to grab her....AG was PISSED....can't wait till Loser Sooners come here, bet AG will kick some butt.
