How would this work?
States that secede wouldn't be able to collect social security. This alone would stop the action. It would have stopped it in 1970, 1980, 1990......etc. Many Retirees losing their homes, going without food, etc. Thankfully my wife an I aren't in that camp but good luck on the retired folks that depend on ss backing it
How would seceded states based corporations reconcile the millions they've paid in taxes for that year? That could cripple or bankrupt many
Lots and lots and lots of jobs here and in red states are HQ based in blue states. Those would vanish
Same for foreign HQ based jobs here. The last 3 jobs in my career were hq'd in Europe. They were large corporations, representing thousands of well paid positions in DFW
And finally, tanks would roll through Austin (Nashville, Tallahassee etc) if it happened.
I'd be all for if it were possible. It's like we're living in 2 separate countries. I want out but don't see it working

Social security will be over in 15 years regardless. It along with all other entitlements are unsustainable.

We don't need secession or civil war. We need federalism as the founding fathers designed if, and we need the Judiciary to enforce it.
We also need far, far fewer busybodies who worry and get very self-righteous about what goes on in other states. A Californian shouldn't give a crap if Alabama wants to ban abortion or IVF. A Texan shouldn't care if Oregon wants to ban guns.

Yes, paying back to people who worked their &%% off all their life what they already paid in is unsustainable, but payments to house, feed and transport undocumented democrats has unlimited funds. Yes, this country is totally screwed, but the solutions already pointed out are few and far between.
Alas, long since passed us by I fear. The movement has progressed from anti-American to anti-humanity.

I completely agree with your first paragraph
But, Secession is not an alternative to war , it's the spark. Tanks would roll and worse. Dems want power. Secession would hurt them too and we see right now the lengths they go to exert both authority and suppression. J6 and Get Trump, prime examples
The few times I've seen dems react to talk of Secession it's countered with talk of treason and insurrection. We see how that's countered already
If there was a way to do it.... I'd be all for it

Even more reason then to find a way to disconnect ourselves from DC.
I suggest red state governors refuse to send National Guard to do the federal's bidding, dissuade young men from joining the US military, and build up state militaries.

These busy bodies get involved because it allows them power. How does Chuck Schumer get a normally conservative woman in Texas or Oklahoma to vote Democrat? Hammer that abortion nail 24/7. It won't change.

I try to serve every day.
The democrats have started prosecuting republicans and the leader of the Republican Party. They are emboldened now. It will only get worse. Secede now and see what happens. If it’s civil war, then so be it. My grandfather didn’t fight in WW 2 for this crap.
They are doing a real good job at that right now. Wish I could post a pic of that - whatever it is - on here.
