Tonite is what I have been expecting out of Texas. K.Bell went MB, and was Outstanding! Boi if they pull it together, they are going to be tough! The hitting was spread out across the court tonite. We are improving! Keep up the good job ladies!

Khat did great at MB tonight. She was hitting with a lot of power in front and behind the setter. Her vertical is amazing. Her blocking should improve with more playing time. She was late closing the block or didn't even make it... not because of her lateral speed, but more because she needs experience in reading the opposing setter.

Besides the Horns playing great there was almost 4,000 fans that showed up and nearly all of them supported the Horns. Well done Horns fans!

I am starting to think if they are getting 4000 fans to a match, that our VB team might be breaking even as far as revenue goes.

Rougly 21 matches in Austin a year, say the average attendance is 3000 that is 63000 people a year. Gregory does not cost much to maintain. Volleyball tickets are what $10 x 63000=$630,000 = + concessions, appearal, programs.

I understand cost of scholarships are paid out of the Longhorn Foundation and endowments and not included in revenue numbers.

I would say they have an operating budget less than $2.0M.

Unfortunately, attendance as been all over the place this year. I really don't get it when you can see a quality program like this. We should easily be able to get 4000 every game. Also, because of the "new" Big XII we only have 15 home games this year (I'm only counting games UT plays in). I really hope that the Big XII goes back up to 12 teams. Not being able to start conference play until the 24th of September because there are not enough teams in your conference=sucks.
