SEC knows how to protect itself it seems

SEC teams do their best never to travel outside their home territory. And their best is better than everyone else. With good reason:

"Besides losing a payday, leaving home means this harsh reality for the SEC: It's pretty mediocre on the road. Since 1998, the SEC is 40-39 in nonconference road games. That mark drops to 24-31 at schools from BCS conferences. "

Here are the dirty details
 
Those numbers are meaningless to me until I see how the other conferences perform as well. All I know is that the SEC is 13-5 (or something close to that) in bowl games the last two years and sports the last two National Champions. I would love the Big XII to step up this year and make a claim as the strongest conference in the country, but as of right now, its the SEC.
