SEC - Home of whiny coaches...

First, there's Bruce Pearl.

Then, Georgia's coach, Felton, complains about having to play two games in one day. Yeah, it sucks but what the hell else option is there? If you want to get into the tourney, try not sucking during the regular season. It's really not that hard to get it. You just have to basically finish in the top half of your conference.

And then, dumbassed Gillespie doesn't know the rules of the game and tells his player to intentionally goaltend the last free throw. He gets hit with a tech and they lose the game. What sucks most is that he pulls a Bill Belicheck and basically slaps the hands of the opposing coaches after the game instead of losing gracefully so he can run after the refs in the tunnel.

I'm really, really glad that we have coaching (in basketball and football) that doesn't represent The University in this type of manner.

Quit bitching about Georgia

They won 2 games in one damn day and may get into the NCAA Tournament as a completely terrible team

Good for them

Let the coach whine

Dennis Felton's argument was that both finals participants should have to play two games in one day. His scenario was both semis early Sunday and then the title game at 3:30, that's chaotic so it wasn't feasible, but I think he could have been on to something if they could have played the game at night.

It's an incredible story. UGA coming into the season was probably fielding the second best team in the East, but then two of the three best players got booted for breaking team rules leaving them thin on the depth chart. They were terrible down the stretch and the AD wanted to fire Felton. Felton has done a good job, but it's been slow rebuilding after the Harrick mess and with a new AD looking to make a splash he was gone if they lost to Ole Miss in the first round and now they are one win away from an automatic birth against a team they beat by 13 during the regular season.

He basically accused the SEC of attempting to screw them on purpose, which is what the Kentucky fans were saying even after UK lost.

It's just a corollary of the "We get no respect" argument.

I was really disappointed when I heard him say that stuff. What he should have said was, "We don't like it, but we're going to do the best we can." Then he gets the sympathy and the appreciation.

And I'm sure Barnes would say the same thing.

The SEC had no other choice.

Their alternative was to cancel the rest of the games. At least by trying to fit them in, UGa has a chance to lengthen their season. Had the conference cancelled the rest of the games, UGa would have gone home.

Felton should have been praising their decision instead of criticizing it.

Assume Georgia (or Illinois for that matter) wins tomorrow. Where would you seed those teams?

Could you imagine a conference champion from a BCS league being a 13 or 14 seed?

Billy Clyde wanted to play down three from an inbounds pass with a second to go, rather try to rebound a miss and score in the same amount of time while down two.

I'm rooting for UGA, but Felton was immature and childish. He should learn from his players on how to be classy because they're handling the situation correctly.
