SEC already whining about BIG$$$ NIL in Texas

Get use to it. The dollar won over doing the right thing.
Its not just the dollar here. The media had hyped SEC to the point that it had impacted recruiting and would only get worse. These 18 yo kids dont have the ability to see Saban and Kirby skewed the NFL numbers because they recruited premier talent and are premier coachs. If they had been in the Conf USA, the kids would then be clamoring for CUSA. Texas had a good showing in the draft this year and if it continues, recruiting will also be bolstered since rivals cannot use the b12 as a club against us.

Understand, and it still is dollar related. The B1G would have fit Texas better (especially after SC and UCLA bolted the PAC-12 for the B1G).

Which means Saban doesn't like it so the $EC doesn't like it.

I think Saban could be the best coach at any level ever, BUT he is the biggest whining crying hypocrite on Earth. He called out Texas during media day and talks about how he wants the players to unionize to level the playing field. He knows damn well if he had the money available he would be spending it and not advocating for change. He was very vocal about the pass happy spread offenses in the Big XII saying it was going to be the downfall of college football then he went out and adopted his own version of that.

Vol,

I don't agree about Saban. Switzer won big at OU by "unionizing" their football program. A&M was always the biggest cheaters around but dissention on their team kept them from winning big until Jackie got their and "unionized" their program.

I don't want an "arms race", neither does Saban. I agree with him that union pay scale with caps would be better. Would schools cheat? Absolutely, just like they cheated in the 70s, 80s, & 90s, but it would give the NCAA something to do if their dissolution is not a possibility.

I think you may be kidding yourself as there is plenty of money with Alabama boosters to do whatever they want. My friends daughter went there and needless to say since Saban has been there they have had a massive financial boom because he wins and he fills stadiums. Yes he is a winer but he and kirby are premier coaches. It pains me to say it but lincoln riley is obviously a good coach as well.

I think the final decision on Lincoln Riley isn't in yet....He may end up getting fired at USC. He's a slightly better version of Kliff Kingsbury. Both are amazing offensive coordinators but these guys wait too long to put emphasis on the defense before getting terminated and Lincoln is heading in that direction.

How about this: Lincoln R gets fired at USC and takes over as the new Iowa Offensive Coordinator.

The earth may split open if they even consider a good offensive coordinator. End of times kind of stuff chop, end. of. times.
