SEC > Big 12?

Who Cares?!?!?!??!?!

The point is, these are the two best conferences in the nation and the champs from both should square off in Miami for the title. Both are loaded with thrilling, talented football teams. Both feature wonderful qb play (more Big 12 of course) and some great defensive players (more SEC of course). Each conference is loaded with excellent coaching at the hc and coordinator levels. What more could a fan want? Here's to a pair of great bowl games, the title game in Miami and the Cotton. Even the Independence should be another fun matchup.

Yes, the title was just a shameless way to get you to click on this. That and we all owe Oregon St a beer for saving us.

Let's quell the old love fest, shall we?

I agree that traditionally the SEC is prob better than the BIG XII. Not this year. Top to bottom, the Big XII is better.

Year-to-year, the SEC is clearly the best conference.

This year it is close. But the important thing is that this year it looks like the Big 12 and the SEC are way ahead of the other conferences.

No, I'll refrain.

This is going to be a VERY
rough year for us. But, you guys are set. You'll lock up another 2nd or 3rd place finish in your division, again, then grab a 10th win in the Holiday or Alamo Bowl, again, and then start next season in the Top 10, again.

I'll stand by and wait with my Kleenex for a really emotional story about 2005 and Vince Young.......

Or an 11th win in the Holiday Bowl, or an 11th win in the Cotton Bowl, or a 5th win against Mississippi State, or a 12th win in the Rose Bowl, or a 13th win in the Rose Bowl....

No doubt it is all but set up for the SEC and B12 to meet in the BCSCG.

That is unless TCU beats OU, BYU and Utah.

Wouldn't that be a hoot. (not likely)

Come on Stat. Arkansas is deplorable this year but it wouldn't really matter if I'm a Hog, Aggie, student at Austin Community College, or mop floors at Duke. It's pretty safe to say that Texas will finish the regular season with 9 wins or less.Hell, after you beat the worst team in the SEC tomorrow, you will have wins over UTEP, Rice, FAU, and the worst team in the SEC. You will sit at 4-0 and not know a single thing about your team or how they will hold up against teams that are not cellar dwellers.

But what is safe to say is you will NOT
sweep OU, Mizzou, Tech, Aggie, and Kansas. You might
win 3 of them, which puts you right back in a ho hum bowl and a 2nd or 3rd place finish in your division.

In my humble opinion.

Come on WhoCares. Not sure that you are in a position to belittle our non-conference schedule (given yours thusfar). Guess you'll be able to one up us after TCU, but when those games were scheduled who knew ath TCU would be better than Ark.

Nevertheless, I'll concede that (assuming we both take care of business) that you guys will be rightly favored for the RRS. But, even if we lose, I don't see why that necessarily relegates us to a secondary bowl. Heck, we might even drop a close game to Mizzou and or an upset on the road and still make it into a BCS game. If we end up with 'good' losses to you and say Mizzou, then Mizzou loses a game and the Big 12 championship, I could still see a BCS bowl taking a 2-loss Horn team.

I find it amusing how whocares is setting Arkansas up as the "worst team in the SEC" so that if Texas wins, he can say "well of course, you beat the worst team in the SEC" and if Texas loses, he can say "OMG, Texas lost to the WORST TEAM IN THE SEC."

You have to admire a mind so diabolical that he gleefully trashes his own team, just so he can set up a later taunt at his hated rival.

Pigs, like Aggies, truly do hate Texas more than they love themselves.

Originally, you quoted my entire post and called all of my statements opinions. You did a better job this time, though I think your case is weak for the charge blatant homerism is all you've got is "Losing by 5 TDs at home is different than losing by 1 TD or less on the road," and "Holding a top 10 team to 3 points is a good defensive effort." Nevertheless, progress was made, and my work with you appears to be paying off.

If you honestly don't see a difference between losing by 5 TDs and losing by 1 TD, or in rallying to beat a I-AA by 4 points and beating a BCS conference team by 34, then football is the next subject we'll need to tackle (no pun intended. FYI, that would be a pun, b/c in football, they tackle people).

My opinion is that we blow. Period. End of story. I love to stir the pot here, but I also make no secret that we have not been truly relevant on the national stage since the 1980's.
We have won the SEC West 3 times and have gone to 8 Bowls in 10 years. But with that said, we have been a middle of the pack SEC team.

I'm not "setting myself up" to be able to say we are supposed to lose, or if we win, say "You guys really suck".

What I am saying is we are truly horrible this year, Texas should win by 3 TD's, BUT
Texas will have beaten 4 really, really bad teams after Saturday. Arkansas, especially this year, will tell you nothing you don't already know and I fully expect Texas, who is over rated at this point, to end up 2nd or 3rd in their division and return to a ho hum bowl.

Once again, let's recognize the irony of a poster spending months on a Texas message board stomping his foot like a toddler and crying that we're irrelevant on thread after thread.

Not to mention the irony that, without fail, the first mention of Vince in every thread is when that poster says, "All you guys ever talk about is Vince!."
